Aerodynamics

The aerodynamics groups are responsible for the aerodynamic design and analysis.

  • This includes airfoil and planform design, as well as analysis of stability and control, and servo selection.
  • Members with little to no background in aerodynamics typically first learn the basics of aerodynamics and analyze and choose airfoils based on 2-D lift, drag and moment performance.
  • Students gain experience with panel, and vortex-lattice method solvers to estimate aircraft performance.
