The aerodynamics subdivision is responsible for predicting and optimizing the rocket’s shape and internal component structure.

  • The aerodynamics teams works closely with the propulsion and structures members to ensure that both the external structure is aerodynamically sound, and that the flow within the engine is optimal.
  • Students within this team will gain experience with compressible and incompressible fluid flows, and will be trained in both accurately using Computational Fluid Dynamics software packages, and building their own algorithms to predict the aerodynamics of the rocket.
